On Monday, 1 July 2024, FAAST Aviation organizes Survival activities & Military Outbound for the June Class 2024 di Jupiter Adventure Zone (JAZ), Adisucipto Air Base. This activity was attended by 41 participants and guided by a professional team from Denhanud Paskhas and experienced instructors. Wearing camouflage clothes and a black hat, The participants are ready to face various challenges that have been prepared to build their character and physical readiness.
Welcoming and Registration of Participants
Activities start at 06.00 with participants being picked up using two trucks. Serma Farma and Srt Abdul are tasked with ensuring that all participants arrive safely at the location. After arriving at Jupiter Adventure Zone, Participants registered, guided by Serka Hugo. Registration went smoothly and all participants were ready to start the activity.
Preamble and Military Discipline
At o'clock 07.00, Rehearsal activities and opening ceremonies were held at the Bak ASR Field. This ceremony was led by Ltd Toso with assistance from Pit Ruma, Srm Farma, Srt Alifed, and Srt Abdul. This ceremony emphasizes the importance of military discipline, which is the main foundation in every activity that will be carried out.
National Defense Material and Introduction to Reptiles
After the opening ceremony, Participants took part in a national defense session led by Captain Febri. This session takes place from 08.30 until 09.15, provides a deep understanding of the importance of love for one's country and awareness of the duties and responsibilities as a citizen. After the national defense session, Participants are given time to rest for a moment before continuing to the next material.
O'clock 09.30, participants gathered again to follow a reptile identification session led by Daffa Sioux. This session lasts until 10.15, where participants learn about various types of reptiles, how to handle, and the importance of protecting wildlife. This activity not only increases knowledge but also increases participants' awareness and courage.
Introduction to Survival Equipment and GPS Tracking
The next session was an introduction to survival tools guided by the team from Pelti Ruma. Participants are taught how to use tools that are essential for surviving in the wild. After that, Serka Roby provided material on the use of GPS tracking, help participants understand how to navigate difficult terrain. This material is very important for prospective pilots who may face emergency situations in the field.
Rest and Ice Breaking
After receiving various materials, Participants are given time to rest (it is less) until o'clock 12.45. This break is important to restore energy before continuing to the next session. At o'clock 12.45, ice breaking session begins. This session aims to strengthen relationships between participants and increase team spirit. Led by a team of instructors, The ice breaking lasted until 13.45.
Military Outbound: Physical and Mental Challenges
The peak session of this activity is the military outbound, which starts at 13.45. In this session, participants are tested in various physical challenges such as Fox-P, wet-Canoe, Alcatraz, and Blind Ball. These challenges are designed to test physical endurance, dexterity, and teamwork. All outbound activities are supervised by Ltd Toso and his team to ensure safety and the smooth running of the event.
Dressed Swimming and Evaluation
After going through various challenges, Participants are invited to swim clothed in the swamp pool, which was driven by Serka Roby. This activity tests participants' abilities in emergency situations in water. After swimming session, Captain Nav Wastu provided motivation and evaluation to all participants. This evaluation is important to provide feedback and assess participant performance during the activity.
Closing and Returning Participants
The activity ended with an official closing and handover of participants back to the FAAST Campus. Srt Alfied, Sr. Agus, and Srd Priyanto was tasked with ensuring that all participants returned safely. This activity not only adds valuable experience but also builds character, discipline, and physical readiness of prospective FAAST pilots.
With the completion of the Survival activity & This Military Outbound, It is hoped that the June Class participants 2024 increasingly ready to face challenges in aviation education and be able to become reliable professional pilots.
